1/4（月）の東京新聞・夕刊、文化欄の年初企画「ネットと言葉」にて
菅原敏が館長を務める『夜の読書館』を取り上げて頂きました。(English follows below)

「日々、四角い箱に魂を奪われてしまうことも多いけど、ここでは電源オフに。魂を体に戻し、チェロとページめくる音だけが聴こえるこの場所で、ひととき、本の世界に滑り込んで」と、太極拳的ポーズの私。

普段は自分の声で朗読をすることが多いのですが、この読書館は「声がない」でも「詩情のある場所」を作りたいと思い、立ち上げた場所でもあります。

ある時間になると、ふっと立ち現れる架空の場所。

2016年も、六本木交差点の喧噪をぐるりと裏返したような
読書館の空気を楽しんでもらえたら幸いです。

“The Night Library”, of which Bin Sugawara is director, was featured in the article, “Internet and Words” that appeared in the Culture section of the evening edition of Tokyo Shimbun on January 4 (Mon).

“My soul seems to be captured daily by a square box, but here I turn the power off. I retrieve my soul and, in this place where I hear only the sounds of a cello and the turning of pages, I spend a moment, immersed in the world of books,” are my words as I strike a tai chi pose.

Usually I am using the sound of my own voice to recite poems, but I wanted to create a reading library that also embodied a “voiceless”, but “poetic place”.A wonderful place that, at a certain time, suddenly materializes.I would be pleased if, in 2016, you would come and enjoy the atmosphere, much like the complete reversal of the clamorous Roppongi intersection, of the reading library.
